- Types of mentoring in the REENERGIZE program: Under this program we will provide Face-to-face, over phone/Skype, and online tools (Tracs and Piazza).
- Benefits:
Facilitate and stimulate mentorship for students from minority institutions
Mentors from Texas State University faculty and industry experts
Monetary awards for exemplary mentor/mentee pairs
Research-related mentoring to instructors and students
- Offer relevant research/grant leads
- Help with preparation of proposals/publication manuscripts.
In this system, for every student active in the lab and research activities in the partner institutions, a faculty, student, or alumni will be assigned to assist them in their research, career, and higher education.
Additionally, the free web service Piazza system has been chosen as the online mechanism for the mentoring. In this system, any faculty and student in the partnering institution will sign up and in the Piazza web system and will access to well-organized data (research, higher education, career). If there is any question or comments, they can post it on the forum with their names or as an anonymous user.
